Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £60,000 – £67,000 + bonus 16-32%, 38 days holiday, 10% pension
Type: Permanent
A FT SE 100 Insurance Company with an office based in Birmingham is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Operations with a view to managing a reconciliation team of 12. You will be required to lead, develop and mentor others to maximise their contribution and ensure high motivation levels.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Accountants and Analysts
Manage the processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities
Manage the team to ensure all data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements
Manage the process in influencing decisions across the organisation teams where priorities and interests are often conflicting.
Communicate complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business both in the UK and potentially globally
Manage a range of senior stakeholders across the business
Provide technical leadership to less experienced or non accountancy qualified employees within the wider team
Acts as an escalation point for resolution of issues or decisions for assigned deliverables
Experience and attributes required:
Qualified Accountant with PQE experience – Essential
Previous experience of managing and mentoring staff – Essential
Experience of Insurance or Financial Services industries – Desirable
Experience of working in a large complex industry – Essential
