As a Secretary, you`ll provide valuable co-ordination to a variety of Major Loss Adjusters within our highly successful Midlands Major & Complex Loss Team. The main duties will be typing reports from dictation, the set up/ allocation/ administration of claims, recording and updating records of claims on a daily basis and processing and issuing reports, so you`ll already be experienced in diarising activities, collating information and accurate record keeping.

Additionally, the role involves daily additions to each live claims record, which requires regular checks of e-mails, post and other relevant information to be attached, so it`s imperative you`ll be highly organised and have the ability to prioritise urgent requests or complaints if they arise. Attention to detail and accurate typing skills, with an ability to type a minimum of 80 words per minute will be required for the role. There will also be administrative maintenance and data input of our centralised claims database, although training will be given on this.

You will have/will be

Capable of typing 80 words per minute as a minimum
Good level of education – at least to GCSE level or equivalent
Previous administration and typing experience, ideally supporting a team
Experience of working in a fast- paced environment
The ability to prioritise your workload and identify urgent tasks
Methodical, organised and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Excellent telephone manner
Accurate keyboard skills
Excellent grammar
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Good general IT literacy
RSA typing/ word processing qualification desired but not essential
